Renanthera monachica is endemic to the Philippines. They usually grow as an epiphyte on tree brunches  found in open grassy areas at an altitude of up to 500 meters above sea level.

Renanthera monachica is a medium sized orchid grows between 30-60 cm in height. 

Renanthera monachica flowers from late winter to spring. The flowers are about 4 cm in diameter they are pale orange and covered with irregular red dots.

Renanthera monachica needs 40000-50000lux light. Never expose the plant to direct midday sun! 

Average day temperature 29-31 degrees, at night 22 degrees during summer.

In the winter keep them cool during the night around 19 degrees. 

Humidity should be around 80-85% and 70% for about 3 months late winter. In this time the watering should be reduced and the substrat should dry out between watering.

Best to keep them in hanging pots or baskets, the substrat should be airy and quick drying.
