Dendrobium lindleyi also called Dendrobium aggregatum is an epiphyte orchid. Can be found in South China and in South East Asia.
Dendrobium aggregatum grows at 500 meters or above.
Dendrobium aggregatum can adapt to a variety of different conditions as long as it gets plenty of light, water and winter rest.
Dendrobium aggregatum flowers in the spring with inflorescences of about 10-30 cm long having 5-15 flowers.
Dendrobium aggregatum needs lots of light but not direct sunlight. When pseudobulbs turn reddish that means it can handle that much light but not more.
Average daily temperature between 21-28 degrees, can handle up to 32 degrees as long as the humidity is high enough.
Average winter temperature between 7-15 degrees.
The watering is the most crucial element to success with this orchid. In their native habitat the weather is fairly wet during late spring to early autumn, but winter months are quite dry. Water tha plants regularly when they are in the active growing season and when the new pseudobulbs have matured by autumn gradually reduce watering, and allow the potting mix to dry between waterings.
Fertilize them every week between spring and autumn. Reduce feeding in the autumn and eliminate it completely during resting period.
Dendrobium aggregatum needs the same level of light during resting period as well. From November to January keep it in a cool temperature and stop fertilizing.
