Orchid handling issues

Why does the bud of an orchid wither and fall off?
This can be caused by a sudden cold, drafts, or, in rare cases, lice or pests that are almost invisible to the eye. Place the plant in a draft-free place. If the window or door is opened at a cooler time, the plant should be placed farther away from it for at least the transitional time while the window / door is open. If a pest is suspected, examine the buds (and the orchid foliage) thoroughly with a magnifying glass.

Why doesn't the orchid bud open? Why do petals and new leaf shoots stick together?
This is usually due to low humidity. Try raising the humidity around the orchid, or spray daily so that the water dries in the evening.

The orchid develops beautifully, yet it has not bloomed for 1-2 years. What could be the reason?
- The amount of light is enough for growth, but not enough for flowering. Try to increase the amount of light reaching the orchid. This can be solved by placing it in a brighter place in summer (however, prolonged stapling days should be avoided!), In winter additional lighting may be required.

- The required rest period has not been completed. Many orchids require rest at certain times of the year, which usually means a drop in temperature, an 8-10 degree fluctuation in day and night temperature, a reduction in the amount of watering, or the complete abandonment. For example, Phalaenopsis, which is kept at 22-24 degrees day and night in winter and summer, does not bloom. For the care needs of each plant, read the orchid care guide.

What length / height does each size rating indicate?
block - miniature: approx. 0.5-5 cm
block - small: approx. 5-30 cm
block - large: approx. Larger than 30 centimeters

potted - small: approx. 6-30 cm
potted - medium size: approx. 30-60 cm
potted - large: approx. 60-100 cm
extra large size: above 1 meter

What tile size does each size classification usually indicate?
potted - small: pots 6-10 cm in diameter
potted - medium size: pots with a diameter of 10-14 cm
potted - large and extra large: pots with a diameter of 15 cm and more

The sizes are indicative, an orchid in pots of eight or ten may be given a medium size rating if the orchid in pots itself is tall, and conversely, an orchid in pots of 12 may be given a small rating if the plant itself does not grow tall.
